Celebrating Grassroots Music and Local Talent in Blackburn.

Making live music accessible to all.

Blackburn Gigs launched in 2024 to reignite the town’s grassroots music culture following the loss of key venue infrastructure. The pilot programme proved there was real appetite for live music in Blackburn, bringing together artists and audiences across the borough.

Now in its second phase, Blackburn Gigs has found a permanent home at The Bureau Centre of the Arts, a newly developed 60-capacity venue in Blackburn Town Centre. From May to September 2026, we’re delivering a consistent programme of live music every weekend, featuring a diverse mix of touring artists, regional acts, folk, jazz, tribute performances and emerging local talent.

Supported by Arts Council England and Blackburn with Darwen Council, the programme helps to create sustainable pathways for local musicians through artist development workshops, performance opportunities and technical training, while rebuilding the live music infrastructure in the town.
