Laura James

Cumbrian-born singer-songwriter Laura James is possessed of a beautiful, crystal clear voice and a set of wonderfully composed, heart-stoppingly delicate contemporary folk-pop songs. With her band Laura James & The Lyres, she has played The Great Escape Festival, Radio 1’s Big Weekend, Kendal Calling, Liverpool Sound City, Solfest and Ireby as well as international festivals such as DBMC in Delaware. She has had extensive radio support from Bob Harris on BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson, BBC Radio Cumbria, BBC Radio Lancashire and BBC Radio Merseyside

Bright Light Rooney

Bright Light Rooney is a Glasgow born, Lancashire based singer/songwriter. Always home before the street lights come on. Freelance shadow boxing in office blocks for PAYE during the week. Music confined by the parameters of a guitar and the limits of language as a sound system: clearly, whether a crow or a nightingale God hears us all the same.

The restrictions of the room little to do with architecture and more a reflection of the people in it. Knowing that the limits of music+room+people are also what make it interesting & Mercurial & Self-indulgent + fun.
